Do you miss the fresh local produce once farmer’s markets close?  Would you like to enjoy fresh local food throughout the winter right here in Kansas City?

There are two share sizes available.  We are planting now in the fields and greenhouses to supply a wide selection throughout the season of cold-hardy and some storage crops.   Here’s what we anticipate being included in the shares at different times throughout the season: lettuce, spinach, kale, carrots, radishes, arugula, kohlrabi, watermelon radishes, salad turnips, parsley, cilantro, collard greens, swiss chard, stir-fry greens, water cress, sweet potatoes, garlic, butternut squash, potatoes, onions, beets, Leeks, daikon radish, green onion, bok choy, and claytonia.

Just like the main season CSA, we use an online platform to build custom boxes based upon your preferences and we offer choices between items whenever possible, but given the challenge of winter production, the choices will be mostly determined by the winter growing conditions.  Think greens and roots.  If you don’t like eating greens, the winter CSA is NOT for you!

There are several choices for pickup locations: Lee’s Summit, Independence, Unity Village, Brookside, Prairie Villiage, and Overland Park.

There are a total of 19 pickups with basically every week pickups in fall and spring except for big holiday weeks and then just twice a month in the dead of winter.  Here are the dates for the winter CSA: 10/29, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19, 12/3, 12/10, 12/17, 1/7, 1/21, 2/4, 2/18, 3/4, 3/11, 3/18, 3/25, 4/1, 4/8, 4/15, 4/22.   Do you think you might be out of town some of those dates?  No problem!  You can skip up to 3 pickups during the season and you won’t be charged for that pickup, or send a friend or neighbor to pick it up for you.

Lee’s Summit: Connection Point Church Parking Lot Thursdays 1:45 to 2:15 pm

Unity Village a self-serve home porch pickup Thursdays 3:00 to 6:00pm

Prairie Village Leahy Chiropractic Office self-serve near 95th and Nall Thursdays 4:00 to 5:30pm

Overland Park a self-serve home porch pickup 119th and Antioch Thursdays 4:30 to 6:30pm

Brookside: Central United Methodist Church parking lot Thursdays 5:15 to 6:00 pm

 

The cost is $31 for the standard sized share and $22 for the small sized share.

Pay for your first week at signup then automatically pay each week at delivery starting the 2nd week.
